Albums and the year in review
An album gathers photos and videos your family has already shared, around a trip, a birthday or a year of the grandchildren, and it never shows a photo to anyone who could not already see it. Albums are free on every plan, with special styles on Kunbaa Plus and Kunbaa Ultra. Your year in review counts up your family's year, month by month, from what you can see.
1. Open the Albums tab
In the Kunbaa app, tap Albums at the top of the wall. On kunbaa.com, open Media Gallery and choose the Albums tab. Every album you can see is there, the most recently changed first.
2. Tap New album, then choose the photos and videos
Kunbaa opens the family’s library of photos and videos with select on. Tap the ones you want: Grandpa’s birthday, a summer trip, the first year of a new baby. An album uses what is already in the family’s library, so nothing is uploaded twice. You can also start in the library itself: select the photos there and carry on from the next step.
3. Tap Add to album
Put the chosen photos into a new album, or into one you already made.
4. Name it, pick a cover and create it
Give the album a name, choose which photo goes on the cover and tap Create album. On the album’s page you can rename it, change the cover, reorder or remove photos, play it as a slideshow with Play, or delete it. Removing a photo from an album, or deleting the album, never deletes the photo itself.
Who can see an album
An album never shows a photo to anyone who could not already see it. A new album starts with the narrowest audience of the photos in it: if one photo was shared with your household only, the album is for your household. You can narrow it further with Change who can see it. Each relative who opens it sees only the photos and videos they could already see on the wall. Only the person who made an album can change it; relatives can make albums of their own. More on audiences: choosing who sees a post.
Album styles on Kunbaa Plus and Kunbaa Ultra
Every family can make albums in the basic style. On Kunbaa Plus and Kunbaa Ultra, tap Style on your album to choose a template, such as Journal, Seasons, Milestones, Celebration or Memorial, and a frame. Everyone who opens the album sees it in that style. On Kunbaa Ultra, Play shows an album in one of those templates as a story, with gentle motion between the photos.
Your year in review
The year in review counts up your family’s year: the photos, videos, stories and events, a month-by-month chart, the busiest month, the first memory of the year, the biggest gathering and the festivals you marked. It is free on every plan.
- In the app: tap Albums at the top of the wall, then the Library tab, then Your year in review.
- On kunbaa.com: open Moments and choose Your year in review.
It counts only what you can see, so it never reveals a post that was not shared with you. Pick another year at the top to look back further.
Questions families ask
Are albums free?
Yes. Everyone who can post can make albums on every plan. Kunbaa Plus and Kunbaa Ultra add special styles and frames, and Kunbaa Ultra can play an album as a story.
Does adding a photo to an album copy it?
No. An album points to the photo or video where it already is, so it takes no extra room. Removing it from the album, or deleting the album, never deletes the photo.
Who can see my album?
The people you share it with, and never more than its photos allow. A new album starts with the narrowest audience of the photos in it, and you can narrow it further. Each relative sees only the photos and videos they could already see on the wall.
Can relatives add photos to my album?
No. Only the person who made an album can add to it, reorder it, rename it or delete it. Relatives can make albums of their own.
What happens to our album styles if we stop paying?
Your albums stay, with every photo in them. They show in the basic style, and the style you chose is kept for when the family is back on a paid plan.
Where is the year in review?
In the app, tap the Albums pill at the top of the wall, then the Library tab, then Your year in review. On kunbaa.com, it is on the Moments page.
Does the year in review show posts I was not shown?
No. It counts only what you can see, so it never reveals a post that was not shared with you, and two relatives can see different numbers.
Can I see an earlier year?
Yes. Pick the year at the top of the review. If Kunbaa can only count part of a year, the review says from which date its numbers are whole.
