Your family's words stay your family's

No. Kunbaa never trains or fine-tunes a model on your content. Our provider's API terms, and the settings on our account with them, stop it using what we send to train or improve its models.

Today, every Kunbaa AI feature runs on OpenAI's GPT models, through OpenAI's API (not ChatGPT), with data sharing switched off for our organisation. Kunbaa may also use models from a short list of providers whose terms do not allow them to train on what we send: Anthropic's Claude models, Google's Gemini models on a paid Google Cloud account, models hosted on Amazon Bedrock, and open models we run ourselves. We use only one of these today. Each feature uses the model that is good enough for the job at the lowest cost, so your family's data goes to as few places as possible.

Only from the list above, and never quietly. Before any new provider sees family data, we name it in our Privacy Policy and ask you again in the app. Until you say yes to the new wording, nothing goes to it.

We send every request with storage switched off. Under its API terms OpenAI may keep a request for up to 30 days to watch for abuse, or longer where the law requires, and then deletes it. It does not use it to train its models.

We keep counts of how much Kunbaa AI a family uses, to apply fair use. Never the words beyond that, except the words in a report you send us.

Kunbaa AI asks you once, with two answers: Allow Kunbaa AI or No thanks. Closing the question is not a yes. You can change your answer any time in Settings.

Nothing you create goes to the AI provider, even when a relative uses Kunbaa AI. You still get your updates and the standard starter tasks, just without AI. Your name and your place in the tree can still come up.

If what Kunbaa AI sends, or who it sends it to, ever changes, we update this page and the Privacy Policy, and we ask you again in the app before anything new is sent.

Only after you say yes. Today Kunbaa AI writes your family digests, birthday and event nudges, task reminders and event plans. What goes to the AI provider depends on the job:

• For a digest, the text of recent family updates, with the names of the people in them.
• For an event plan, only that event's title, type, date, place and guest count.

Photos, videos and live locations are never sent, and neither are contact details.

Kunbaa AI uses only what your own account can already see. Anything created by a relative who has not said yes is left out. So two relatives can get different answers from the same family.

Every request starts with a fixed safety instruction that sits above everything else, so nothing anyone wrote can change it. An automated check looks at what goes in and what comes out. If that check cannot run, nothing is written. These checks have no off switch. Every AI-written notification and event suggestion can be reported.

Yes. Kunbaa AI can be incomplete, out of date or just wrong. Check before you rely on it, and do not use it for health, legal, money or safety decisions.

Kunbaa accounts are for adults, 18 and over. Children appear in family trees by name and relation only. Content that sexualises or endangers a child is always blocked.
