Kunbaa helps families build a family tree, share memories, post announcements, invite relatives, and stay connected across devices. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have.
1. Scope
This policy applies to Kunbaa's websites, mobile apps, and related services.
It covers both public pages and private product areas such as family trees, member profiles, memories, posts, announcements, chat, calling, goals, invites, and account settings.
2. Information we collect
- Account details such as your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, preferred language, and sign-in methods linked to the same account.
- Family information you add, including member names, relationships, dates, photos, stories, posts, announcements, comments, chat messages, goals, tasks, and uploads.
- Invite and contact details you choose to use when inviting relatives, such as a contact's phone number or email address.
- Security and device information such as IP address, app version, browser type, device type, logs, and fraud or abuse signals.
- Communication details when you contact support, respond to us, or request help with your account.
- Payment and billing details from our payment providers when you purchase a paid plan, such as checkout session identifiers, subscription status, plan selections, add-on selections, billing interval, and high-level payment metadata. We generally do not store full card details ourselves.
- Notification and calling data such as push tokens, connection identifiers, call timestamps, and limited signaling metadata so voice calls, message delivery, and security features can work.
3. Biometrics and device access
If your device supports biometric unlock, you can choose to use Face ID, fingerprint, or a similar device feature to unlock Kunbaa more quickly after your first sign-in.
Biometric matching is handled by your device operating system. Kunbaa does not receive or store your fingerprint or face scan itself.
If you allow contact access on mobile, Kunbaa uses the contact details you select so you can invite relatives to join your family space. We do not import your entire address book into public areas.
4. How we use information
- To create and maintain your account and family space.
- To link approved sign-in methods, such as email and mobile login, to the same account when the information matches.
- To send sign-in codes, invitations, reminders, notifications, and important service messages.
- To provide family trees, member profiles, memories, posts, announcements, chat, calling, goals, and task features.
- To keep the service secure, detect abuse, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms.
- To improve performance, reliability, accessibility, and support quality.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect users, families, and Kunbaa.
6. AI-assisted features
Some Kunbaa features can help with drafting, translation, accessibility, summaries, or suggestions. These features are meant to support your family, not replace human judgment.
You should review AI-generated output before sharing it, especially if it involves health, legal, financial, or sensitive family matters.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, support families, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain backups.
You can delete content through the product where controls are available, and you can contact us if you need help with account deletion or access requests.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
You can also manage many preferences directly inside Kunbaa, including notifications, profile details, family sharing, and optional device permissions.
If we are not able to offer a paid flow or specific premium feature in your territory yet, we may limit access until the legal, payments, and platform requirements for that territory are in place.
10. Information about other people
Family spaces often include information about relatives, including children, elders, and people who may not have created an account themselves.
Please only share information you have the right to share, and use care when uploading sensitive health, identification, or contact details about someone else.
