The wall: photos, voice notes and stories
The wall is where the family’s everyday life and its keepsakes sit side by side — and where nobody outside the family can look.
Posting
Open the Wall tab and tap New post. Write a few lines, add one or more photos or a video, or record a voice note. Say what the photo is while you post it — who is in it, where, roughly when — because that note is what a grandchild will read in thirty years. Photos show as big previews the moment you pick them and upload in the background, so you can keep writing.
Who sees it
Above the text is a selector: Everyone in the family (the default), Extended family — grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins — or Household, your parents, partner and children only. Nobody outside your family space ever sees a post whichever you choose. The full rule is in choosing who sees a post.
Reactions, comments and replies
Tap the thumbs-up to react, or the speech bubble to comment. Comments are where the stories come out — “that’s the house on Barrack Street” — so leave them on. A relative who is being unkind can be muted from their profile; you stop seeing their posts, and they aren’t told.
Memory drops and Moments
A post with a photo or video in it is a memory drop: Gran’s album, the reunion photo, the video of the first steps. The wall opens on Moments, which gathers every memory drop day by day, so the things worth keeping don’t scroll away under the things worth a smile. The Wall tab beside it is the full conversation — stories, announcements, comments — and Me is just what you have shared.
The Library
The Kunbaa tab → Library collects every photo, video and voice note the family has posted, by month, by person and by moment. It’s the same archive as the wall, without the conversation around it — and it follows the same audience rule, so a Household photo is in the Library only for the household.
Sparks
A Spark is a short video for the family — a birthday message, a first step, a kitchen disaster. Sparks are private like everything else here; there is no public feed to end up on.
Questions families ask
Who can see what I post on the wall?
By default, everyone in your family space — the people who accepted an invite from your family — and never anyone else. When you post you can narrow it to your Extended family (grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins) or your Household (parents, partner and children). There is no public feed, no search and no advertising inside Kunbaa.
Are photos compressed?
Lightly. The app resizes very large photos so they upload quickly on a family's ordinary connection and keeps them at a resolution that prints well; videos on the wall are stored at up to 720p. Thumbnails are made separately for scrolling. Chat attachments are squeezed a little more than wall posts.
Can I post a voice note?
Yes. A voice note is a post like any other: record it, add a line about what it is, and it plays straight from the wall. Grandparents telling the story behind a photo is what this was built for.
What is a memory drop?
Any post with a photo or video in it. The wall labels it a memory drop, and the Moments tab gathers every memory drop day by day so the things worth keeping don't scroll away under the things worth a smile.
Can I delete something I posted?
Yes, from the post's menu. It disappears for everyone. Deleting your account removes what you posted too — see how to delete your account.
How much can we store?
A free family gets enough shared space to build the tree and start the photos; Kunbaa Plus keeps the whole family's archive — the scanned albums, the wedding videos, the voice notes — with longer videos and chat photos kept for as long as the family is on Plus. Rather than publish a figure that goes stale, Kunbaa shows you where you actually stand: the usage page under Settings carries a live meter for the family's shared space.
